Setting up a PSU Computer Account (Odin)

You can get access to e-mail, Desire2Learn (D2L), library resources, and other resources with your PSU Computer Account (called an Odin account).  If you are a student who is registered for at least one credit or are a newly hired faculty or staff, you can create your Odin account by following these instructions:

  1. Your admissions letter should have an OAM 'security code' that you can use combined with your birthdate as the password to login OAM.pdx.edu and setup your account.

For example If your security code is 'xyZ1abC' and you were born on January 1, 1990'
than your password for OAM would be:     010190xyZ1abC

Be aware that your password is case sensitive and the birthdate is 6 digit MMDDYY format.

  2. If you never received a 'security code' or the process above does not work please come to the OIT Helpdesk in Smith Memorial Student Union Rm. 18 (in the basement) or call our 24 hour phone support line at 503 725-HELP (4357). Please have your PSU ID number and photo ID ready (if visiting in person), and we will be happy to help you get your Odin account setup.

  3. Follow the on screen step-by-step instructions (tutorial) to create your account and change your password.

  4. The account may take up to 24 hours to sychronize to all systems.

  5. Odin accounts can be used to access D2L, MyPSU, email, wifi, Banweb and logging onto computer labs.  For more information on what an Odin account can be used for, read this article.

If you are unsure if you qualify for an Odin account or if you have questions about the process, please: Contact the USS Helpdesk.
