myPSU Course Studio is a set of online tools that enable course communications through email, a message board, calendar, and chat. In addition, these tools allow your instructor to share files, links, photos, and news.
In the portal, click on the "Courses" tab. Now click on one of your classes. If your instructor is using Course Studio, you will be navigated to the Course Studio home page. You may also be navigated to Blackboard, if the course is managed in Blackboard, or to an instructor's web page.
Depending in what tools your instructor is using, you might see a number of items on the homepage, such as announcements, message board topics, photos or links. Note if your instructor has not activated Course Studio, you will not see a course homepage, but instead see either a default web page or a web page activated by your instructor. You may also be navigated to the Blackboard site, if the coures is managed by Blackboard.
Follow the links on the left side menu to access other coures materials such as files, photos, and email. You can submit a request to the instructor to post files, news articles or photos. For a complete guide on how to use course studio, click here.
Consolidated Courses may be used by your instructor to join multiple classes, allowing all linked course members to have access to one parent or consolidated course. If your instructor is using a consolidated course, you may need to access the parent course to get documents or paticipate in consolidated message board topics. Just remember where you are. For example, if you want to post a message to multiple courses, you need to be in the Consolidated Course homepage; if you want to send a message just to the course section, you need to be in the Course homepage.
