The Information Systems group is responsible for managing and implementing virtually all the administrative systems for the University. Most of the applications run on Oracle™
databases residing on UNIX hosts. These systems include but are not limited to:
Student registration and records management
Student accounts receivable
Student Financial Aid
Human Resources
Payroll
Finance
Web interfaces for admission applicants, students, employees, and faculty
Interactive Voice Response for student registration, and ordering of parking permits
Documentation for Banner users
DARS ™
Transfer articulation
Degree audit
Data Warehouse
We strive to manage the systems in such a way as to provide the needed functionality and system performance for all of our customers. The unofficial motto of the group is Responsive, Professional Service. Rather than acting solely as technical ‘gurus’, the Information Systems team members work to provide meaningful business solutions to business and process problems. We do this by maintaining on-going relationships with our customers and colleagues through standing committees, cross-functional project teams and ad hoc meetings.
Requests for business solutions or enhancements can be made through any person in the Information Systems department. Some recommended starting points are:
The Administrative Priorities Committee, chaired by Janine Allen, reviews requests that will require significant resources. This helps assure that the IS resources are directed towards areas that have the highest strategic payback for the University.
