Obtaining Educational Pricing Software for Employees and Students from OETC
- Go to www.techhead.org
- Choose "College or University" from the drop down box.
- Then choose "OR" for state.
- Lastly, choose "Portland State University" from the list of Oregon universities.
- On the left side, you can pick from the software companies currently available (Adobe, Ingenuity Works and Microsoft).
- Find which title you want; be aware that there are separate choices for Mac/PC.
- Once you add the title to your cart there will be a link along the top to “Check Out Now.” Fill out all fields.
- Make sure your ship to address is the same as your billing address or That you have set it up as a valid ship-to-address with your credit card company (Visa or MasterCard). If you do not want to put in your Social Security number, you can just put in your PSU ID number in the Student/Staff ID field only, which will trigger a Manual Verification process.
Techhead carries two types of basic software products: CD/Licenses and shrinkwraps.
Shrinkwraps are the pretty boxed products that most of us are used to seeing on store shelves.
CD/Licenses are much cheaper, but you don't get the pretty box and tech support from the manufacturer varies. Instead, you will recieve a CD and a piece of paper indicating you have purchased a license. Very plain and basic, but that's why it is so inexpensive.
